Could you please tell us the story of your winery, when it was created and how it developed decades after decades ?
We are a family owned winery in the fourth generation located in Austria just south of Vienna in the Thermenregion.
All our vineyards are farmed organic and we are three brothers who operate the winery.
Our vineyards are located on the hillside of Anninger mountain in Gumpoldskirchen and also in the valley in Tattendorf.
All our wines are from estate grown grapes and we have 40ha of vineyards, producing about 200.000 bottles a year.
What sort of wines are you producing ?
We produce about 65% red wines and 35% white wines.
On the hillside we focus on the local unique white varietals Rotgipfler and Zierfandler and in
the valley we grow our red wines St. Laurent, Pinot Noir and Zweigelt.
The average age of our wines is around 30 years and our oldest vineyards are 60 years old.
How important are your export distribution compared to national distribution ?
At the moment we export about 35% of our wines in 17 different countries.
What sort of distributors are your customers ?
We have a long relationship with our partners which are specialized selling wines from family owned wineries.
Our wines are mainly sold to restaurants and fine wine shops.
Why your wines are different from other wineries in your area ?
Our goal is to produce wines which express their origin and the character of the variety.
Do you produce grapes in a organic or environmental friendly method, or with general methods ?
In 2004 we started to work organic and with the vintage 2013 we’ve finished the process of certification.
We work a lot with covercrop, compost and also with spraying teas.
Are your wines already distributed in Asia, and if not what are the countries you are looking for new distributors ?
Our wines are distributed in Japan, China, South Korea and Singapore.
