Yoav launched Cannonball Wines with 20 + years of diverse experience in consumer goods & beverages. Born and raised in Israel, Yoav moved to the UK in 1994 & studied Law at University of Kent. Following graduation, Yoav practiced law for three years before moving on to Tymco Beer Ltd., where he managed business development for brands including; Red Bull, Corona, Beringer, Masi, Fonseca, Planeta & others. Yoav then pursued his MBA at Columbia Business School & Haas School of Business/Berkeley & further deepened his industry experience by providing strategy & marketing services to Constellation with their brands; Blackstone Winery & The Campari Group – SKYY Vodka. Today, Yoav oversees all day-to-day operations as well as the company’s distributor & international sales networks in over 60 markets. True to the Cannonball spirit, Yoav is a professional scuba diver & Cabernet is his “go-to” varietal.

The Angels & Cowboys journey began with a sentimental namesake, a bold, mysterious icon and an appreciation for down to earth wines. These elements drove the vision to create wines that indulge the lover, the trailblazer and the rule breaker in all of us. Angels & Cowboys wines are handcrafted, Sonoma County proprietary blends. Our winemaking team draws on traditional and progressive methods to create wines that deliver a stand out style.
Highly acclaimed Astrolabe wines express the purity and intensity of flavors naturally afforded by the climate and soils of the Marlborough region. The grapes are grown across a number of small vineyards throughout the region; the Wairau Valley, the Awatere Valley and the southerly Kekerengu Coast, sourced from dedicated growers who understand the rhythms of the land and know how to grow grapes that express the terroir. Astrolabe is a personal project for winemaker Simon Waghorn and his wife, Jane.
High Dive is crafted with fruit sourced from several of the best vineyards in Napa Valley. The wine’s ‘Left Bank’ Bordeaux style blends world – class Cabernet Sauvignon with additional Bordeaux varietals – bold and complex with a long, subtle finish. Raise your glass to the 2017 vintage! The ripening season temperatures were a little cooler than normal giving the grapes a long hang time for optimum ripeness. The vintage is characterized with richness, classic varietal character and opulence.
Winemaking: In pursuit of the best of both worlds the Chardonnay receives a combination of stainless steel and oak aging. The individual lots are 100% stainless steel fermented to preserve fresh varietal character and they remain in stainless, in contact with their fermentation lees, for the first few months of cellaring which integrates creamy complexity into the wine. Partial malolactic fermentation is employed to round-out the palate and balance acidity. The 2017 vintage completed partial MLF, retaining just enough malic acid to contribute a lively crispness to the finish. The entire blend is French oak-aged employing specialty toasts that enhance the vanilla components of the wine.
Aromas: The aroma displays honeycomb, baked apple, pastry crust, and honeysuckle notes. Taste and flavors: Soft, medium weight palate unfurls layers of flavor of crushed pineapple, lemon curd, cantaloupe melon, and brioche toast. A lively streak of acid prevails on the finish.
