Ferdinand Mayr already dealt intensively with wine while studying music. He has started to go through all stages of wine education at the Academy of Wine Austria. With the completion of the international diploma study in the year 1997 he fulfilled the dream of his own winery. From the yield of two hectares of steep slopes north of Krems to Senftenberg top wines are produced.

Vineyards
All single vineyards are situated in the northern Krems Valley. Lovers of wine from around the world knows that a premier wine requires time in the cellar and in the bottle. This process should not be rushed. Thus, going forward Ferdinand Mayr explains how he will keep his signature wines in used oak barrels for a minimum of two years.
Ferdinand Mayr believes in making high-end, cellarable wines, produced with time for slow development on the fine lees.
Ferdinand Mayr wines Came from an area north of the city of Krems on the Danube, from the outstanding vineyards around the town of Senftenberg.
There – in three single vineyards with old vines – Ferdinand Mayr harvests the grapes to produce a small volume of boutique Grüner Veltliner and Riesling Krems Valley under the name „KAISERWETTER“.
In addition he produces a range of classic easy drinking wines with a strong individual character. Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch.
These wines bear the name “NA ALSDANN” from the old Austrian expression used to describe something that’s turned out—perhaps unexpectedly—quite well.
Recently, Ferdinand Mayr has joined Asia Import News and won 2 gold medals in this competition.
