TYPES OF GRAPES GROWN IN THEIR VINEYARDS
Located in Montbabone, a small village on the Monferrato hill in the southern part of the province of Asti, at the beginning of Asti Langa, a buffer zone – the 50th Italian region of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, 15 hectares of vineyards is owned by the family of Azienda Agricola Gallo
.
The vineyards are all planted in surrounding terraces and are farmed with the Guyot system. The altitude is between 320 and 350 meters above sea level. It is mainly composed of marl and sandstone. There are many types of grapes grown: Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato, Brachetto, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cortese. Specific climate conditions and sea breeze effects are ideal conditions for obtaining quality wines, freshness, fragrance and elegance every year.

The Gallo family has always paid lots of attentions to environmental issues. In addition, they are equipped with photovoltaic systems which provide clean electricity for their business, and they trim the residues from the rows of vineyards, pick, pack and dry them, and they will use it later to heat their houses during the winter.
