Villa Mangiacane is a noble and majestic estate set on a cypress shaded hill, just twelve kilometres directly south of Florence and near the town of San Casciano
THE STORY BEGAN OVER 500 YEARS AGO
Villa Mangiacane’s name comes from Latin, – “Magna Cane”, that literally translates into ‘great dogs.’
Villa Mangiacane has produced superior Tuscan wines since its early heritage and has since 2001 focused on even more premium wines to match its sublime heritage. Its terroir presents a diversity of soils and exposures generating different microclimates ensuring great complexity and personality in its wines.
A PRIME LUXURY RESIDENCE AND RESORT
We are amazed by Villa Mangiacane ‘s breathtaking views over the Chianti valley and vineyards. But this we are not over – the TOP FACT that makes this a truly unique location is the Villa’s views of the city of Florence and the Duomo in Florence.
FROM CHIANTI CLASSICO TO THE SUPER TUSCANS
As stated above, Villa Mangiacane’s wines are produced in a ‘Chiantigiano’ style. This is the perfect combination between the ancient wine-making traditions and the touch of the modern concepts.
Villa Mangiacane focused on producing mainly Chianti Classico DOCG wines, but they also produce IGT wines
The grape types grown at Villa Mangiacane beside the main Sangiovese grapes are: Merlot Trebbiano, Petit Verdot, Colorino, and Canaiolo.
Another important fact or secret maybe of Villa Mangiacane’s great winse is the soil and the exposure. This is divided to East and North East in San Casciano, and to the South in Greve, generating different microclimates and guaranteeing a production of wines with great complexity and personality.
The passion they put in their wines is found in their own quality – we have to admit they are exceptional!
