Could you please tell us the story of your winery, when it was created and how it developed decades after decades ?
VALENCISO is a boutique winery located in the heart of the Rioja Alta area in Ollauri, in 1998 after 30 years of experience in the region, Luis Valentin and Carmen Enciso, decided to produce the top and best Tempranillo for the area, hence the merge of both last names VALENCISO was created. With 22 hectares of Biodinamic and organic Tempranillo grapes we have develop the elegance and the delicassy of the Tempranillo in our region. Now our production in in total 130,000 bottles which allow us to keep the details and quality to the highest levels.
What sort of wines are you producing ?
We produce mostly a Reserva wine, wine that express that freshness of the Tempranillo, soft tannins, mostly premium wines in small quantities.
How important are your export distribution compared to national distribution ?
Our expor represents more than half of our total sales, so it is predominately export our main sector
What sort of distributors are your customers ?
Our distributors are mostly people that are more into the HORECA, Wine shops and private customer sector, because all of our distribution worldwide is base on that sector, result of that we are in most f the top fine dining places and shops.
Why your wines are different from other wineries in your area ?
Mostly because we use concrete for the fermentation and stabilization and also our wines are aged in French oak only
Do you produce grapes in a organic or environmental friendly method, or with general methods ?
Yes in both methods, organic, byodinamic and enviromental firendly
Are your wines already distributed in Asia, and if not what are the countries you are looking for new distributors ?
Most of my wines are in most of the countries in Asia, however I´m still looking for opportunitties in Taiwan, South East Asia , central Asia.
