Could you please tell us the story of your winery, when it was created and how it developed decades after decades ?
We were first planted in 1998, first vintage was 2004. The winery is owned by a single family from the start who are very invested in the region. The owner Alastair Scott developed a love of New Zealand Pinot Noir.
What sort of wines are you producing ?
We produce Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and some bubbly wine.
How important are your export distribution compared to national distribution ?
Our focus has always been on export distribution as we felt there was more opportunity to sell overseas.
What sort of distributors are your customers ?
We deal with a range from small in their region to online only to nationwide.
Why your wines are different from other wineries in your area ?
We are one of the largest producers in our region so we make wines in larger volumes with traditional methods, all the while using the latest in technology in our purpose built winery.
Do you produce grapes in a organic or environmental friendly method, or with general methods ?
We produce our wines in accordance with NZ Sustainable. We use organic and bio-dynamic methods also. We aim for a hands off approach.
Are your wines already distributed in Asia, and if not what are the countries you are looking for new distributors ?
We have sales in a number of countries in the region but no set distribution at this stage.
Is there anything who want to add about your wines, story or any news ?
We like to try different things and are always open to ideas and suggestions from our customers and consumers !
