Could you please tell us the story of your winery, when it was created and how it developed decades after decades ?
Merotto is a family Company who since the beginning of the ‘900 for three generations is active in the cultivation of the VALDOBBIADENE DOCG PROSECCO SUPERIORE.
The commercial developments have consolidated from the end of 1970/beginning of 1980 years with the built of the new cellar. During the last 10 years the production grown from 300.000 bottles to 600.000 bottles.
What sort of wines are you producing ?
Merotto is a producer. Doesn’t buy neither wines nor must and uses only grapes cultivated inside the area VALDOBBIADENE DOCG. The most important production is VALDOBBIADENE DOCG PROSECCO SUPERIORE in the different typologies BRUT / EXTRA DRY / DRY.
How important are your export distribution compared to national distribution ?
The export is constantly growing up especially during the last decade. Today Merotto exports to about 30 different Countries for about the 35% of the total production.
What sort of distributors are your customers ?
Our export partners are importers / distributors specialized in the segment of high level quality and position in the market.
Why your wines are different from other wineries in your area ?
During the last years the judgments of the most important and famous wine guides, did distinguish Merotto as one of the best producer for the changeless research of the higher quality. This productive choice is actually the primary objective of the winery.
Do you produce grapes in a organic or environmental friendly method, or with general methods ?
Merotto is committed of the respect of the wine-vines protocol elaborate by the Consortium Valdobbiadene DOCG for a sustainable agriculture.
Are your wines already distributed in Asia, and if not what are the countries you are looking for new distributors ?
Our wines was distributed in ASIA few years ago, but actually are not.
If we will find a partner who believe in the high quality project and high segment in the market we’re open to discuss.
Is there anything who want to add about your wines, story or any news ?
We want to obtain the higher quality possible from our grapes and moreover we studied the best presentations for our bottles. We’re proud to be considered one of the higher quality produced together with the best packaging we won few years ago. See us at Vinitaly 2017.
